Slice of Life - Day 31

31 days gone past. 0 more days til April. I can't believe that 31 days have already gone past, so for slice 31, I am going to use this picture as inspiration.

Let's take a look at some of these ideas and write about them (I will not do all of the ideas):

  • TOYS: I own a lot of Toys, best not to list them all.
  • GIGGLES: I like to laugh.
  • SATURDAY: first day of the weekend, pull out my to do list.
  • SHOES: please don't mention this again...

That's all for today, I'm gonna miss writing slices... or am I? Check out my Slice of Life for ETERNITY blog for my slices of life...

Slice of Life - Day 29

Today, I went to the craft fair here in Kuala Lumpur. It was filled with cool trinkets and handmade objects everywhere! Just to give you an idea of what it was like, take a look at these pictures!

And that is just a small view of what was at the fair. This fair goes on from a few days ago till April 7th. Just so you can go see for yourself. There is also a museum at the craft fair, and there are people who can teach you crafts. You can be taught how to make mats from bamboo strips (very thin), and how to make butterflies and coasters. It was a lot of fun, and I suggest it to all.

Slice of Life - Day 28

Do you remember yesterday's post? Well if you do, I'm here to finish it for you. Now back to, The Girl Without Gratitude.

The Girl Without Gratitude... Continued

The president decided that Victoria should go to a regular school, like one with regular people. That did not make Victoria happy. She missed her old school. She would do anything to get back to her friends.
"See, that is gratitude. Showing that you like something, and that you would do something to get it back. Maybe if you show gratitude for what you have, then maybe, just maybe, I will let you go back to your old school. Unless you learn to like it there," said her father.
On her first day of school, she was disgusted by how nothing was as "pristine" clean as at her old school. Gum underneath the tables, gossip, dirty toilets, and much more. She finally understood what her dad meant. When she told her dad what she had learned, her dad let her go back to her old school, and she got what she has always wanted.

Slice of Life - Day 27

Today, I would like to address the ever growing feeling of gratitude inside me. "Why don't I just save my gratitude for thanksgiving?" some of you may ask. I'll save some gratitude for thanksgiving, of course, but it always nice to show gratitude where ever you go. There are people there in the world, who don't have food, clean water, even proper houses. There are people out there who feel like nothing. It's time to show our gratitude for the world, feel grateful that we have all that we need, and more. So today, I'm going to write a little story on a girl and her gratitude.

The Girl Without Gratitude

This little girl, blonde hair, blue eyes. This little girl, white skin, perfect nails. This little girl, the presidents daughter. This little girl, gets everything she wants. An only child, this little girl.
Her name is Victoria. The presidents daughter, she is. She gets everything and can do anything. She is daddy's little girl.
One day, Victoria went out to the mall. She was used to getting whatever she wanted, even if it was a duplicate of something she already had. But today, she wasn't seeming to get what she wanted. Her dad kept saying,
"You already have this. You don't need it. Show some gratitude." Of course, "gratitude" was not in her vocabulary. She didn't know how to show thanks. She ignored everyone who needed help, and kept saying,
"But I don't have enough, daddy!!!" Even though that was not true. She didn't know how to be happy with what she had.

Slice of Life - Day 26

Resilience is all around us. The trees, swaying to stand up in the wind. The grass, being trampled on, day in, day out. The people, suffering from disasters, but still hanging in there. They try, and they try, and they succeed. People, with extra or missing body parts, they keep going. A good example of this is Nick Vujicic, who has no arms or legs, and he seems to me living a better life than most of us! He swims, fishes, golfs, and much more. So today, I'm going to write an ode to his resilience.

Life Without Limits

I jump into the water,
so cold,
yet refreshing.

I swim in circles,
with my little drumstick.
Trailing there behind me.

even though I seem like one who is not.
My life's without limits.

No, arms,
no legs,
no worries.

As long as you have the basic needs,
you can do anything,
no matter what has happened.

My life's without limits,
no worries,
no fears.

I try to help others see,
the light that shines bright,
inside them.

For everyone has something,
no matter who you are.

What to do, what to say, the thing I say, everyday. My mind is blank, blank as a slate, as I sit here, amongst no mates. - Today is on what to do and what to say if your mind has gone blank. I suggest that you read slice 23, as it is related to this slice (Please read it first, if you haven't read it already). If you have a notebook (or a Japanese Stab Notebook), and the same troubles as me, I suggest that you write them down.
